About
Welcome to THE KYANPU キャンプ Yakiniku Japanese BBQ Grill, a delightful culinary escape nestled in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur. This unique dining spot merges the essence of traditional Japanese yakiniku with an inviting outdoor ambiance that makes it an ideal sanctuary for friends and family gatherings. Located within the scenic Rain Tree Rain at The ERA @ Duta North, it offers a cozy retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The concept of dining here stands out, with its charming campsite atmosphere enhanced by cool breezes and pet-friendly policies. As Leo Chin aptly noted, the outdoor setting and thoughtful service create a pleasant environment for socializing and celebrating special occasions, making it perfect for weekend outings.
On my visit, I was greeted by the friendly staff, including the dedicated owner, Lance, who personally oversees the culinary experience, ensuring everything is prepared to perfection. The focus here is on quality, and the menu reflects a commendable commitment to authentic flavors, showcasing an array of pork dishes that are undeniably tempting.
However, as Glory Mathew pointed out, some diners might feel limited by the menu options, particularly if they are fond of beef. The focus on pork, including the enticing Iberico variety, offers a unique twist but indeed leaves room for expansion. I was impressed with the belly neck—its surprising juiciness won me over when paired with flavorful dipping sauces.
While certain dishes, like the belly pork, may have fallen short of expectations with dryness, the atmosphere makes it easy to overlook minor culinary slips. The setting is enriched with a lawn-like charm, reminiscent of a campsite, which adds a layer of comfort and uniqueness. As one patron noted, it's a cozy and clean space where you can bond over delicious food while enjoying the fresh air, although some seating discomfort was mentioned by a few guests.
Nonetheless, my experience at THE KYANPU was marked by enjoyable moments, with the standout being the tantalizing chicken wings and the fresh scallops, which did bring a satisfying element to the meal. Their prices remain reasonable, particularly when considering the great ambiance and friendly service, making it a worthy destination for a casual outing, family celebration, or a fun night with friends.
In conclusion, while some may find the offerings a bit limited, particularly in terms of variety, THE KYANPU キャンプ Yakiniku Japanese BBQ Grill delivers an enchanting dining experience in a unique setting. I recommend making a reservation, especially on busy weekends, to truly immerse yourself in this spirited grill experience. “ Nice outdoor Japanese BBQ Grill concept with cooler fan provided, great service and also pet-friendly. Food quality matches with the price. Pleasant place to hangout with friends and family. Highly recommended to reserve a table especially on the weekends. ”
“ Must come. Look for the boss Lance. He is friendly and prepare the foods for us. Very dedicated and nice! I will come back again. ”
“ My Taste My Experience Not bad. Its was good. Friendly staff and serving fast. Just go ”
“ I visited The Kyanpu twice and the experience was just okay. The Classic Buffet (RM39.90 not yet including tax) only had three pork options, and it would be much better if there were more choices, especially vegetables. No free water was provided, which didn’t make sense in a smokey BBQ setting, though they do give free ice cream, but I think not everyone likes having ice cream. If free refillable water was provided for everyone, it would feel more suitable and satisfying. The ambience is nice and the food quality is decent, but some extra charges like soup and water felt a bit expensive compared to other places. Service could also be improved, as sometimes we had to raise our hands for a long time and no one noticed ,maybe having a bell or a calling system would help. Overall, not bad, but could be improved to feel more value for money. ”
“ Had a pleasant environment here, ingredients were fresh, Buffet for 90 minutes only RM 59.90 very reasonable Plenty of choices and soup broth tastes good too ”
“ I liked the food here; quality food, the bbq pork, pork belly and chicken wings is my favourite, indeed all foods here tasty and fresh. Nice ambiance, cozy and clean. The service is amazing. Surprisingly there's a great place in town with such a cozy ambiance for family and friend bonding. Price is reasonable too. Must come to experience it ”
“ Place is chill, parking still free. Food is fresh but not too much variation but they had 3 different sauces of meat to grill. Boss is very helpful, even though they limit the time but actually we stayed more than that and they didn’t ask us to leave within time being ”
“ Came here for wedding anniversary with my hubby. Saw this long time ago and wanted to try as the concept looks quite interesting plus we both love yakiniku. We wanted to order the basic buffet but it only has 3 types of pork meat to choose from and quite pricey RM49.90/pax on public holiday and weekends so we decided to go for ala-carte instead. They have set price too but we felt it’s not worth it so we went for ala-carte. There’s not many choices in the menu as compared to other yakiniku places. We love beef tongue but they don’t have in their menu. Here has more pork meats than beef. They have iberico pork as well but we didn’t try. Ordering ala-carte is definitely pricier but we have more options to choose. In the end we didn’t really feel that satisfied with the food as we weren’t as full as when we ate at other yakiniku places. We ordered belly pork, belly neck, chicken wings, scallops. Belly pork was quite dry, chicken wings and scallops was so so. Belly neck is surprisingly nice. Sauces are not bad. We may have higher expectations for food taste as we love yakiniku and have tried many others. Taste wise this place is really so so. But environment and atmosphere is good as it feels like a campsite. It’s very windy so our tissue keep flying away. Im pregnant when I went so the campsite chair is really low and uncomfortable for me, even for my husband as well. The table is low so when we bend forward is really uncomfortable. We told the owner and he said there’s actually another type of table and chairs for elderly and pregnant people but too late as we were not aware of it. The good thing is the parking is free. ”
